Farmers want State to earmark ₹2,000 crore for Cauvery-Vaigai-Gundar river linking project
Farmers in Tamil Nadu have formally requested the state government to increase funding for the Cauvery-Vaigai-Gundar river linking project, arguing that the current allocation is insufficient. The District Collector addressed their concerns regarding project funding, land compensation, and local infrastructure issues.

Demanding the Tamil Nadu government to earmark more funds for the Cauvery-Vaigai-Gundar river project, farmers from the district unanimously passed a resolution and handed over a copy to the District Collector here on Friday.
Prior to the grievance meeting that commenced at the Collectorate, the farmers’ associations submitted the copy to District Collector Sivaguru Prabhakaran.
The farmers said that though the government had allotted ₹150 crore for the above project, it would be insufficient. “The CM should announce more funds in a 110 statement in the Legislative Assembly. This alone would give hope and instil confidence that the government is serious in implementation,” they said.
