The farmers and milk producers in Salem on Tuesday welcomed the Aavin milk procurement price hike by the State Government.
Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay announced in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Monday that the Aavin milk procurement price will be increased to ₹44 per litre from ₹38.
Welcoming this announcement and thanking the Chief Minister and Dairy Development Minister, the Tamil Nadu Milk Producers’ Welfare Association (TNMPWA) general secretary M.G. Rajendran urged the government to hike the procurement price of buffalo milk to ₹60 per litre for the standard of 7.0% fat + 8.8% solid non-fat (SNF) milk.
