Farmer killed by lightning strike

A lightning strike killed a farmer and injured another in Madlur village near Yargatti in Belagavi district on Tuesday.
Kedarappa Basappa Gurlahosur and his son Bhimappa Kedarappa Gurlahosur were out keeping watch on the harvested maize in their field. It began raining heavily, and lightning struck.
Kedarappa suffered serious burn injuries and died on the spot. Neighbours shifted Bhimappa to a hospital in Dharwad.
