Families of railway employees from the erstwhile Waltair division, who are currently stationed in the Rayagada railway division staged a protest in front of the South Coast Railway (SCoR) headquarters in Siripuram on Monday, demanding their immediate repatriation to the Visakhapatnam railway division
The protestors, including women, children, and elderly parents, accused railway authorities of administrative apathy following the contentious division bifurcation.
They raised slogans against the SCoR and the East Coast Railway (ECoR) administrations, and sought an early resolution to their longstanding deployment issues.
The demonstrators noted that employees were under severe mental agony because of the long separation from their families while stationed at Rayagada. They also rains concerns regarding their children’s education and medical care of the elderly, which continues to remain unaddressed.
