EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A NYCHA employee was killed after being struck by a falling tree in Brooklyn on Saturday.
It happened at 700 Euclid Ave. in the East New York section.
Police sources told Eyewitness News that a 56-year-old man was walking through a parking lot when he was struck by the falling tree.
NYCHA confirmed in a statement that the victim was one of their employees.
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and the NYCHA community," the statement said.
He was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
