5PM update: There are over eight-and-a-half thousand (8,647) electricity customers without power this evening.
The outages mainly affect South and East Kerry.
Kilgarvan, Kenmare, Gurranebane, Milltown, Coolcorcoran, and Rathmore are particularly badly affected.
That's according to ESB Network's PowerCheck service.
Several outages do know have an estimated restoration time available yet.
Kerry County Council is advising of trees down and debris on many roads across the county as a result of heavy winds.
It's warning of dangerous driving conditions on the N72 between Killorglin and Killarney.
