Fake currency racket unearthed in Ramanagara, seven held
Police in Ramanagara, Karnataka, have arrested seven individuals involved in a counterfeit currency operation. Authorities seized materials used for producing fake ₹200 and ₹500 notes, including chemicals and specialized paper.

The Ijoor police of Bengaluru south district on Sunday unearthed a fake currency racket operating from an under-construction house in Shantilal Layout and arrested seven persons posessing material used for preparing counterfeit ₹200 and ₹500 notes.
The arrested have been identified as house owner Santosh of Gejjepura in Magadi taluk, Sampath, Govindaraj, Renukaraj, Rajesh, Shivaraj, and Satish. The police seized paper, chemical, cloth, glass sheets, tables, and other material allegedly used to prepare the counterfeit notes.
According to Bengaluru South SP Rohan Jagadish, the racket involved locals and those from outside the state. Sampath, a resident of Ramanagara taluk, is suspected to be the mastermind of the operation. He said the accused had been preparing counterfeit notes at the house for around 10 days with a plan to hand it over to their contact.
