Fair weather likely across Keralam during Onam week
The India Meteorological Department forecasts fair weather for Kerala during the upcoming Onam week. While isolated showers are expected in some districts due to cyclonic circulations, no major active monsoon spell is anticipated.

Largely fair weather is likely to prevail over Keralam throughout the Onam week this year, with the Bay of Bengal remaining relatively calm. However, the days ahead of Onam may witness some isolated showers in some parts of the State.
The extended forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) also indicates subdued rainfall activity across most parts of the State during the coming week. However, towards the end of August, southern Keralam is likely to witness a couple of intense spells.
An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over west-central adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal and north Andhra Pradesh–south Odisha coasts, along with another upper air cyclonic circulation over north Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh. Under the influence of the systems, isolated showers are likely in parts of the State between August 23 and 25.
