Faeces in school water tank: two boys behind the act, but no malicious intent, says SP

A day after it was brought to light that faeces was found in a drinking water tank of a government school at Manoor near Palani in Dindigul district, Dindigul Superintendent of Police S. Jeyakumar on Friday said two 11-year-old boys were behind the act. The officer claimed that they had no malicious intent.
Addressing journalists in Palani, Mr. Jeyakumar said a special team, led by Palani Deputy Superintendent of Police Devaraj, was formed to investigate the incident. The team questioned over 40 persons in connection with the case.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that two 11-year-old boys from the same locality were behind the act. There was no malicious intent and it was done in a playful manner,” he said.
The officer said it was common for boys in the locality (including the two suspects) to play Kabaddi on the school premises.
