Facebook will let you customize your feed algorithm using AI

Meta is rolling out a new 'Your Algorithm' feature for Facebook that allows users to manually influence their feed recommendations by selecting 'interested' or 'not interested' on content. The system utilizes large language models to process user feedback in real-time to customize the content experience.
Why it matters
This represents a shift toward giving users more agency over algorithmic curation, addressing long-standing criticisms regarding the lack of transparency and control in social media feeds.
Facebook’s new “Your Algorithm” feature will let you directly add and manage topics you want to see in your feed and Facebook Reels. Meta says your recommendations “respond right away” after you make updates using the new feature by hitting “interested” or “not interested” for different topics. Your Algorithm previously launched on Instagram earlier this year, and Meta also launched a similar “Dear Algo” feature on Threads.
