Experts at the science workshop held at Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) Deemed to be University said that artificial intelligence (AI) could help predict floods and water scarcity and enable faster decisions on reservoir management, irrigation, and drinking water supply.
The two-day Science Academies Workshop on ‘AI and Space Technologies for Climate and Resource Monitoring’ was organised by the CSE (AI and ML) department, in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Sciences, Indian National Science Academy, and National Academy of Sciences on Tuesday.
Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru professor D. Nagesh Kumar said that integrating real-time sensor data, satellite imagery and weather forecasts with AI could pave the way for smart water resource management.
