Sahyadri Arts College in Shivamogga on Monday invited activists and experts from different fields to deliver lectures to students as “Professors of Practice.”
Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene leader H.R. Basavarajappa spoke on the farmers’ movement, narrating the history of farmers’ struggles.
G.L. Janardhana, director of Community Radio Shivamogga FM; Nagendra, a retired officer of the Shivamogga City Corporation; and Subramanya of Kuvempu University delivered talks on subjects of their expertise. College principal Siraj Ahmed said experience-based teaching was essential for students’ academic growth.
He added that such talks enhanced students’ understanding of society.
