Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has put district Collectors on the fast track to growth, directing them to unlock local opportunities, ground approved investments and turn district resources into wealth to drive Andhra Pradesh’s GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product).

Addressing the eighth Collectors’ conference on Thursday, Mr. Naidu said projects cleared by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) should be grounded without delay and their commencement dates fixed. Ministers and elected representatives should work with district administrations to ensure projects take off, he said.

In 20 SIPB meetings, the State has cleared 359 projects involving ₹13.85 lakh crore in investments and the potential to generate 10.6 lakh jobs. Of these, 160 projects have already commenced, involving ₹4.03 lakh crore and the potential to provide 5.9 lakh jobs.
