Excise teams seize marijuana, liquor in separate raids across Hyderabad

Excise enforcement teams in Hyderabad conducted three separate raids resulting in the seizure of marijuana and illicit liquor. Several individuals were apprehended and the contraband was handed over to local excise stations for further investigation.

Excise enforcement teams seized 1.23 kg of marijuana, 15 bottles of liquor, a mobile phone and a scooter in three separate operations in Hyderabad and its outskirts.
The Medchal-Malkajgiri Enforcement Team seized 100 packets of marijuana weighing 735 grams near Habsiguda Metro Station. Inspector Kotamma and her staff apprehended a woman identified as Reetha in connection with the seizure.
During questioning, Reetha reportedly told the officials that she had procured the packets from a person residing in Mallepally. The accused and the seized contraband were handed over to the Uppal Excise Station for further action, Inspector Kotamma said.
In another operation, the STF team seized 500 grams of marijuana, a mobile phone and a Honda Activa scooter from Padya Shankar, 24, near Railway Vihar in Lingampally, close to HUDA Trade Centre Park.
