Ex-TVB star Vinci Wong denies claim that his bankruptcy was caused by gambling

Hong Kong-born actor Vinci Wong has denied rumours that gambling was behind his financial troubles, stressing that he is not a habitual gambler and has not visited a casino in two decades.

During a livestream, the 55-year-old, who is currently based in Canada, said his bankruptcy was the result of failed investments and poor financial decisions.

“(The bankruptcy process) was a very long road, with many things happening and many people involved, which cannot be explained in a few words.

“I made many serious decisions which may have led to debt and ultimately bankruptcy,” he said.

Wong, who served as chairman of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals in 2018 and 2019, was declared bankrupt by the Hong Kong High Court in March last year.
