“She would host calls with donors and pretend to support Biden and say there’s no daylight between Biden and herself,” Lindy Li, who previously branded Harris’ failed presidential bid a $1 billion disaster, told Fox News Digital .

But Harris’ charm offensive was part of a broader tactic should an opportunity arise to replace Biden in the race – who faced mounting pressure to drop out after his disastrous June 2024 debate with then-former President Trump.
