Everton Under-21s hold nerve in National League Cup shoot out

On Wednesday evening Everton Under-21s travelled south to take on Boreham Wood who are sitting proudly three points clear and unbeaten at the top of the National League table, the 5th tier of football in England. The competition was the National League Cup whereby teams from that league take on Under 21 teams from the Premiership. It's an experience which has not always been pleasant as young professionals match up against seasoned senior footballers who have little respect for their glamourous opponents.

The Toffees lined up as below, minus leading scorer Braiden Graham away on international duty with the Northern Ireland senior team and with youngster Jonathan Nsangou rewarded with a start following his fine performances with the Under 18s.
