Everton back on the market! Friedkin Group put Toffees up for SALE with one major catch for potential buyers

The Friedkin Group has officially put Everton Football Club up for sale just two years after their takeover. The owners are seeking a successor who can continue the club's development and ensure the completion of its new stadium project.
Why it matters
The sale of a historic Premier League club has major implications for the financial stability and competitive future of English football.
Everton have been sensationally put up for sale by their current owners, The Friedkin Group, just two years after they took control of the Merseyside club. The American investors are reportedly prepared to walk away from Hill Dickinson Stadium if a suitable successor can be identified to lead the Toffees forward.
The Friedkin Group (TFG) are open to a complete sale of Everton, according to The Athletic . Initially seeking minority investment, the American ownership group are now willing to part with their majority stake. However, TFG will only sanction a departure if they find a successor capable of taking the club 'to the next level'.
TFG purchased Farhad Moshiri’s 94 per cent share in December 2024 via their UK investment vehicle, Roundhouse Capital. The takeover brought much-needed stability to Merseyside following a protracted saga and years of financial turmoil.
