Evening rain brings relief to Madurai

After a scorching day, Madurai city and surrounding southern districts finally found relief as heavy downpours swept across the region.

Prolonged spells of rain were reported in numerous areas, including suburban pockets like Melur and Usilampatti.

As the showers persisted late into the night, rainwater accumulated heavily on many streets, leaving large pools stagnating in deep potholes.

While the showers brought refreshing weather and aided the ongoing seasonal rainfall cycle, local commuters have urged authorities to look into addressing the road conditions and water stagnation issues to prevent further inconvenience during future spells.
