Legendary actress Eva Marie Saint has died at 102, leaving behind a legacy of iconic performances in classic cinema. Her representative confirmed she passed away from natural causes at her Los Angeles home.

Eva Marie Saint, the Oscar-winning actress who starred in classic Hollywood films including “On the Waterfront” and “North by Northwest,” died Tuesday (October 6, 2026), her publicist said. She was 102 years old.
Over her seven-decade career the ever-elegant Saint caught the eyes of influential filmmakers, including Alfred Hitchcock and Elia Kazan, building a legendary resume in film as well as television, which also earned her an Emmy.
Her representative Jeff Sanderson said Saint died of natural causes at home in Los Angeles, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Saint’s performance in “On the Waterfront” was her film debut, and earned her the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
Kazan’s crime drama with music composed by Leonard Bernstein is widely considered among the greatest films of all time, featuring an all-star cast including Marlon Brando, who also scored an Oscar for his role.
