Abiy Ahmed names 62 state ministers across Ethiopia’s federal government institutions.
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has appointed 62 state ministers across federal ministries and government institutions, expanding the leadership of his new administration just two days after parliament approved the country’s cabinet.
The appointments, announced on Saturday, October 10, 2026, cover key government sectors, including foreign affairs, defense, finance, peace, justice, education, health, agriculture and economic development.
According to Fana Media , the new officials will serve across federal ministries and other government institutions as Abiy continues forming what his administration calls the Medemer Government.
The appointments also extend to the Prime Minister’s Office and the Government Communication Service, placing additional officials in institutions responsible for coordinating government operations and public communication.
