Ethekon: No firm awarded 2027 election technology tender yet

Ethekon was responding to allegations raised by Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua regarding the ongoing procurement of electoral technology and other preparations for the 2027 polls.
In a statement issued on Thursday, August 27, 2026, Ethekon said the procurement process for the Integrated Elections Management System (IEMS) was still at its initial stages and had not resulted in the selection of any supplier.
“The commission informs the public that the procurement process for technology commenced with the advertisement of the tender and it is still at its initial stages,” he said.
