Erode KVK holds pilot AI workshop for digital agriculture extension promoters

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Erode, India, hosted a workshop to train agricultural extension workers on using AI tools for farm management and marketing. The initiative aims to modernize digital agriculture by teaching participants how to create content and develop farmer advisories.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Erode, organised a one-day offline workshop on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in agriculture at the ICAR-KVK MYRADA campus in Gobichettipalayam on Friday as part of the Digital Agriculture Extension Promoter (DAEP) course.
The course is being organised with the support of ICAR-ATARI, Hyderabad, National Skill Foundation of India (NSFI), Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, and Adelaide University, Australia. The workshop was conducted as a continuation of the online course to provide participants with hands-on training in the use of AI tools.
P. Alagesan, Senior Scientist and Head, ICAR-KVK, Erode, delivered the introductory address. He highlighted the need for farmers and extension workers to adopt digital technologies and said the workshop aimed to help develop an action plan and assess the short- and long-term impact of the course.
