Why it matters
Local government financial incentives are a common tool to improve municipal revenue collection and ensure the funding of public services.
Property owners in Erode Corporation limits can avail themselves of a 5% incentive by paying their property tax dues for the second half of 2026-27 on or before October 31.
A release from Corporation Commissioner Arpit Jain said the incentive is being offered under Section 84(1) of the Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies Act, 1998. The Corporation has appealed to property owners to make use of the incentive and pay their dues within the stipulated period.
Residents have also been urged to pay other dues, including vacancy tax, professional tax, water charges and sewerage charges, on time without accumulating arrears.
