Equal justice should not remain a mere concept but must become a reality, said Tourism Minister P.C. Vishnunath.

He added that the State government is executing numerous welfare programmes led by the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes Development Departments to fulfill this objective.

The Minister was delivering the inaugural address at the district-level launch of the Social Solidarity Fortnight, jointly organized by the departments at the Chittumala Block Panchayat Hall in Kollam on Tuesday.

Highlighting the vision behind the initiative, Mr. Vishnunath said that the Social Solidarity Fortnight aims to extend the core principles and rights championed by Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to every individual in society.

The inaugural ceremony was presided over by District Panchayat president R. Lathadevi, while Chittumala Block Panchayat vice president A. Bindumol administered the anti-addiction pledge.
