EPFO invites applications for Amnesty Scheme
The Indian government has launched the Amnesty Scheme 2026, allowing establishments with unrecognized Provident Fund Trusts to regularize their status within six months. Eligible organizations must apply through the EPFO regional offices to gain formal exemption status.

The Centre has introduced the Amnesty Scheme, 2026, providing a six-month window for establishments operating Provident Fund (PF) Trusts recognised under the Income Tax Act, 1961, to regularise their status.
This scheme applies to establishments that have been operating a PF Trust recognised under the Income Tax Act but do not possess a formal exemption notification from the Centre or State government as the case may be.
The scheme is valid for six months from the date of notification. The scheme was notified on June 29. The jurisdictional Regional Office of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation will provide guidance and accept applications from establishments.
