Manchester City reporter Published 4 September 2026 Several Manchester City players wanted to know if Enzo Fernandez would be joining the club in the last days of the transfer window as they were keen to play alongside him, says manager Enzo Maresca.
The pair worked together at Chelsea and the 25-year-old Argentina international joined City from the Blues for a joint-British record £125m on deadline day.
Maresca said Fernandez is "ready" to make his City debut against newly promoted Coventry City in the Premier League at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
"I know Enzo quite well and I know what he can bring to the team," Maresca said.
