Enumeration Forms in English for GHMC, in Telugu for the rest; dummy forms printed in Urdu for assistance: Telangana CEO office
The Telangana Chief Electoral Officer's office has distributed electoral enumeration forms in English and Telugu, with Urdu dummy forms provided for public assistance. This initiative is part of a Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls currently underway in the state.
Why it matters
Ensuring language accessibility in electoral processes is critical for democratic participation and reflects ongoing legal and social debates regarding linguistic representation in India.
The Enumeration Forms were printed in English for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area, and in Telugu in the rest. This is in response to the requests made by all political parties, as per the office of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Telangana on Tuesday (June 30, 2026). It added that dummy Enumeration forms were also printed in Urdu, for assistance of the general public.
