Entrepreneurs should constantly upgrade their aspirations: CII Vice-Chairman

Entrepreneurs need to constantly upgrade their aspirations to continue growing in business, said J. Murugavel, vice-chairman Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Tamil Nadu State Council here on Friday.
Delivering the special address at the inaugural session of YiFi2026, the two-day national financial entrepreneurship summit of Young Indians (Yi) an integral part of the CII, he said,. instead of being content with their dominance in the category they created through their first product or service, they should continue creating new categories, he added.
Citing the example of BharatMatrimony, which is headed by Mr. Murugavel, he said it had created India’s online matchmaking category, which has since expanded into multiple categories catering to customers from different languages, communities, premium and affluent, as well as the bottom-of-the-pyramid population.
It has also diversified into wedding services.
