Located in a quiet part of basement one, Made's A Cafe is manned by employees who are elderly, use a wheelchair or walking stick, or youths going through hard times.
In a video posted on Tuesday (Sept 15), public speaker Bruce Mathieu said that he had passed by the store once.
When he saw it a second time, he noticed the same elderly woman standing there, ushering visitors to take a look at the shop's offerings.
Upon doing so, Bruce found out that the woman's name was Mary.
He also learned that Made's A Cafe was started in 2022 by a woman named Jane Seow.
"They don't call themselves a social enterprise. Just an enterprise with heart," he wrote in the video caption.
