‘Ensure supply of quality food to students’

Ariyalur District Collector N. Mirunalini announced that surprise inspections will be conducted to ensure the quality of food provided under the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme. The scheme has recently been expanded to include students from classes VI to VIII.

Collector N. Mirunalini on Wednesday said that surprise visits would be undertaken frequently to check the quality of food supplied to students under the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme.
In Ariyalur district, 26,176 students studying from class I to V in 519 schools benefited under the scheme. It was expanded on September 29 to cover students studying from Class VI to Class VIII. Accordingly, 18,161 students studying in classes Class VI to Class VIII in 241 schools comprising 218 government schools, 17 government aided schools in rural areas and 3 government schools and 3 government aided schools in the district have been brought under the expanded scheme.
