Inaugurating the induction programme for the first-year engineering students at SDM College of Engineering and Technology in Dharwad on Thursday, Ms. Snehal said that curiosity, resilience in overcoming failures and leadership qualities were essential for engineering aspirants.
“Engineering teaches problem-solving skills that are applicable not only in academics but also in everyday life,” she said.
Students from diverse backgrounds had stepped out of their comfort zones to pursue engineering and should strive to become better individuals and responsible citizens, she added.
