Engineering college alumni donate water purifier
Alumni of the Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology donated a water purifier worth ₹2 lakh to their alma mater. The event served as a reunion for students who graduated 25 years ago.

Alumni of the erstwhile Periyar Maniammai College of Technology for Women (PMCTW), Vallam, now functioning as Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology (PMIST), have donated a water purifier costing ₹2 lakh to the Deemed to be University Development Fund.
A group of students who pursued their education at PMCTW, an Anna University-affiliated engineering college, 25 years ago, gathered on the present PMIST premises recently and shared memories and planted a sapling. Their college was upgraded as a Deemed to be University and renamed as PMIST in 2007.
