The Kakinada district police, led by Superintendent of Police G. Bindu Madhav, are yet to track down the 26-year-old rifle shooter-cum-trainer, Sk. Sadhik Khan, who is charged with abetment of suicide in connection with the suicide pact by Pithapuram Panchayat Raj Assistant Engineer K. Nooka Raju, his wife Meena and 38-year-old daughter Sowjanya.

Earlier, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan instructed a speedy probe into the case.

Nooka Raju’s family jumped into the river Godavari on August 16, citing threat from the accused. The Kakinada police began the probe after registering a case against Khan under various sections of the BNSS.

“No clue has emerged on the whereabouts of [Sadhik] Khan by Friday,” a senior police official associated with the probe told The Hindu .
