Encroachments on government land removed in Erode district

Encroachments on government-owned land at Neripparai in Elumathur village in Modakkurichi taluk were removed recently following an order by the Erode Permanent Lok Adalat.
According to an official release, Mallika, a resident of the village, petitioned the Lok Adalat stating that some persons had illegally encroached on vacant government land near her house and put up structures. The government had proposed to construct a community hall on the land for public use. She also alleged that certain illegal activities on the premises were causing inconvenience.
After hearing the petition, Permanent Lok Adalat Judge V.P. Sugandhi directed the Village Administrative Officer (VAO) to remove the encroachments immediately.
