Over 300 employees from cooperative banks and ration shops protested in Dindigul to demand revised wages and the resolution of administrative issues. The protesters also requested compassionate employment for heirs of deceased staff.

Employees of Cooperative bank and ration shops staged a protest at Dindigul Collectorate on Monday urging the authorities to fulfil their charter of demands. Over 300 employees participated in the protests.
The demands included implementation of revised wages and payment of arrears. The employees said practical difficulties faced in executing ‘Thayumanavar’ scheme should be resolved. Employees, on consideration, should also get transfers so that they can work from their home districts or places near their residences, they said.
