Elgato takes on DJI with a tiny wireless mic for creators on the go

Elgato has released the Wave Go, a compact wireless microphone designed for mobile content creators. The device includes advanced audio features and a 'Smart Handle' accessory that converts it into a professional-style interview microphone.
Why it matters
This product expands Elgato's portfolio from desktop-focused hardware to the mobile creator market, directly competing with portable audio solutions from brands like DJI.
Elgato already dominates the market for hardware built for creators that use powerful desktop PCs, and it’s now turning its attention to creators on the go with its first wireless microphone. The $99.99 Wave Go clips onto your clothes just like DJI’s Mic Mini, with hands-free recording for vlogging and content creation.
The Wave Go is tiny, about the size of an AirPod, so it disappears on camera and only weighs seven grams. Despite the tiny size, Elgato is promising “broadcast-quality” audio, with a condenser capsule that supports EQ shift, auto gain, and noise cancellation.
The Wave Go clips onto clothes with a magnetic clip and plate, and a single button lets you power on the microphone or mute it. You can also double-press the button to launch the camera app on your phone.
