Health Department, along with Madurai Corporation, will make elaborate medical facilities in connection with Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple consecration on September 17.

Medical camps have been set up within the four temple towers till Wednesday, a statement said.

On the day of consecration, 54 medical camps on would be held on rotation basis at 27 spots to provide immediate medical care. Among them seven medical teams would be deployed on the roof of the temple and six teams within the temple premises. An advanced life-saving facility would be made available at Tiruvalluvar mandapam.

Besides, four urban health centres around the temple, one medical camp would be provided at the Birla House, which would function with an ALS facility.

For the benefit of the thousands of devotees coming to the temple, eight mobile medical units and 12 ambulances would be available around the temple. This includes two bike ambulances.
