KANPUR: A 32-year-old woman, who was eight months pregnant, was allegedly hacked to death by her drunk husband with a sickle in Mahoba district late Saturday. The accused allegedly tried to mislead police by claiming an unidentified person had killed his wife, but his five-year-old son, who witnessed the murder, exposed the lie.Police said the incident took place in Bijrari village under the Panwadi police station area. The accused, Hanif (35), was taken into custody after his version was contradicted by the couple's son and during police questioning.Police said Hanif lived in Bijrari village with his wife, Manisha Mansuri, and their two children. Late on Saturday, he allegedly returned home heavily intoxicated and began arguing with his wife over an issue.
