Member of Parliament for Effia, Isaac Boamah , has delivered a stinging call for tighter financial discipline at the Effia‑Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA), warning that public funds are being overspent without matching results .
Speaking at the Second Ordinary Meeting of the First Session of the Assembly , Mr Boamah said the Assembly must demonstrate probity, accountability and transparency in every transaction, stressing that every cedi must produce visible improvements in the municipality.
He revealed that his review of EKMA's Composite Budget as of May showed expenditure overruns in multiple areas , raising serious questions about the approval processes behind them.
