ED raid on Jarkiholi’s house politically motivated: Sharan Prakash Patil

Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil condemned the recent ED raid on Satish Jarkiholi’s residence as a politically motivated act by the Union government. He accused the BJP of using central agencies to suppress political opposition.
Why it matters
This reflects ongoing tensions between state-level opposition parties and central government investigative agencies regarding the use of state power.
Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil has criticised the Union government for allegedly targeting Opposition leaders through Central investigating agencies, terming the raid by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi’s residence “politically motivated”.
Speaking to media personnel in Yadgir on Friday, Dr. Patil alleged that the Modi government has been attempting to suppress the voices of its political opponents by orchestrating raids through the ED and the Income Tax (IT) Department. “The ED raids were conducted at the behest of the BJP and the Union government and are purely politically motivated,” he said.
