EC’s ‘unanimous clarification’ on SIR exercise puts to rest all misconceptions, says A.P. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has stated that the unanimous clarification issued by the Election Commission, led by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alongside Election Commissioners S.S. Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, on Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls reaffirmed the integrity and credibility of India’s constitutional bodies and put to rest all the misconceptions surrounding the process.

The decisions concerning the SIR were taken collectively and in strict adherence to established institutional protocols, Mr. Naidu observed in a social media post on Saturday.

Mr. Naidu noted that attempts to undermine global confidence in India’s democratic framework or electoral processes for short-term political gain were “deeply unfortunate.”
