EBRD Advances Renewable Energy Investment in Bulgaria

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is expanding its investment in Bulgaria's renewable energy sector, focusing on solar capacity and battery storage. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is strengthening renewable energy and infrastructure investment in Bulgaria after the country completed key energy milestones under its Recovery and Resilience Plan. EBRD-backed programmes have helped mobilise private investment, support 3 GW of solar photovoltaic capacity and develop 15 GWh of battery energy storage. The bank is also working with Bulgaria's government on a new framework for public-private infrastructure projects.
