Eastern Region: Two dead, six injured in crash at Dr Marbel Junction, Suhum

Two people have died and six others sustained injuries following a road crash at Dr. Marbel Junction on the Accra–Kumasi Highway in Suhum on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.
The crash involved a DAF truck, a Volkswagen Sprinter bus and a tricycle.
According to preliminary findings by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) , the accident occurred after the DAF truck reportedly suffered brake failure and lost control, subsequently colliding with the Sprinter bus and the parked tricycle. Firefighters who responded to the incident rescued one victim who was trapped underneath the DAF truck.
The casualty was subsequently transported to the Suhum Government Hospital for medical attention.
The tricycle was completely destroyed in the crash, while the DAF truck and Sprinter bus sustained varying degrees of damage.
