Early detection of tuberculosis stressed to get cent per cent cure
District Collector Anand Mohan has called for a social movement to eradicate tuberculosis in India by 2030. The initiative focuses on early detection through community awareness and screening at local health centers.
Why it matters
Public health campaigns are critical for meeting global health targets like the 'TB-Free India' initiative.
District Collector Anand Mohan honoured the heads of 19 tuberculosis-free village panchayats in the district at the Collectorate on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anand Mohan said the battle against tuberculosis should be transformed into a ‘social movement’ with the active participation of the public, government departments, students, service organisations and the voluntary agencies to achieve the target of creating ‘TB-Free India’ by 2030.
Those having symptoms like continuous cough, fever in the evening, sputum with blood, chest pain, profuse sweating in the night should undergo immediate screening for tuberculosis by giving sputum sample and other investigations in the nearby primary health centres, government hospitals or government medical college hospital.
