Prefer the Guardian on Google Earl Spencer has apologised to Piers Morgan for incorrectly claiming in his new book about Diana, Princess of Wales , that the former tabloid editor was behind the publication of intrusive photos of the late royal in the mid-1990s.

Morgan had earlier threatened to sue Spencer over “fabricated inaccuracies” and “examples of brazen falsity” in the book, which was published on Tuesday.
