Intelligence developed by Telangana Police’s Elite Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force has led to the seizure of 385 kg of ganja near the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border in a joint operation with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), officials said on Saturday.
Police said the seven-day surveillance operation tracked the consignment from Deoghati near Jeypore in Odisha to Baghnadi Gaon on the Kolkata-Mumbai highway before it was intercepted, preventing the narcotics from being transported into Maharashtra and Rajasthan. One person, identified as Mahadhev Bheel (23) of Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district, was arrested in connection with the case.
