EACC arrests surveyor over alleged Sh100,000 land beacon bribe

A surveyor based in Narok County has been arrested over allegations of soliciting and receiving a bribe, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has said.

According to EACC, the surveyor is alleged to have demanded Sh100,000 from a complainant to facilitate the identification of beacons between two parcels of land in Nairagie Enkare Sub-County, Narok County.

The commission said the arrest followed preliminary investigations into the complaint.

EACC said it subsequently mounted an operation that led to the surveyor’s arrest at the Narok County offices while she was allegedly receiving Sh50,000.

The surveyor was escorted to the EACC South Rift Regional Office in Nakuru for processing and statement recording, the commission said.

The arrest in Narok came hours after EACC reported the arrest of two police officers in Kipkelion Sub-County Offices over similar allegations.
