DYFI warns of State-wide agitation over ‘jobless calendar’

The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) State committee has criticised the State government for allegedly misleading unemployed youth for the past two years in the name of a job calendar and eventually issuing what it termed a “jobless calendar”.
In a statement issued on Sunday, DYFI State president Y. Ramu and State secretary G. Ramanna said nearly two lakh government posts were vacant across various departments in Andhra Pradesh, while the recently announced job calendar provided for recruitment to only 10,060 posts.
They questioned the decision to fill only 2,265 posts in the Police Department when nearly 19,996 posts of police constables were vacant. They said police constable and Sub-Inspector aspirants had been protesting for the past few days, demanding notifications for 11,639 posts, but the government had failed to increase the number of vacancies.
