Members of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) staged a demonstration in front of the BSNL office near Coimbatore Collectorate on Sunday (October 11, 2026), demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India Gyanesh Kumar and condemning the police excess on the protesters in Delhi.
Holding black flags, they raised ‘Modi go back’ slogans in protest against the Prime Minister’s visit to Chennai on Sunday. They condemned the BJP-led Union government, accusing it of committing vote theft through Mr. Kumar.
SFI’s district president K. Pavel, secretary Ahmed Zulfikar, DYFI district president Raja, secretary Dinesh Raja led the demonstration.
